My concern is my amperage and killing my battery now. Maybe we can talk off line sometime Brick. PM and we can exchange numbers if you're willing. I need to learn more about the electrical stuff
yea its running off the stock alt....i never had any problems with killing the batteries except when i left my headlights on...and what jumping peg? the one in the fuse box or the batteries?

the batteries are connected in parallel, and the 1st battery has the cars power and ground wires and the 2nd battery is what is hooked up to the t2000 and my 4 channel amp

also, the t2000 pulls like 2300-2500 true RMS at 1 ohm and when its turned up all the way the amp voltage drops to right around 12v...it usually doesnt go under 12v but your right a alt would be a worthwhile upgrade

he's talking about the peg in the front sticking out from the fuse box...essentially the one acting as a go between for the alternator and the battery. and yea...hook your batteries up in parallel or you're going to be getting some fat voltage lul (too much, this is not a good thing)

your thinking of series not parallel....2 batteries in series = 24v =

right... brick has the big 3 done. so he has a run of 1/0 from the alt to the fuse box and then a run from the fusebox to the battery in the back. The bigger wire helps the alt charge the batteries better

Yeah so MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT TODAY...... got my subs wired up no problem.
Wired the amp up and blew out not 1, but 4 fuses in my distribution block.... and have no idea why either.... I was so excited today when my amp got here and now have a massive migraine and feeling of utter disgust....

New SYSTEM FTMFL!!! I have no idea what the issue is.

Power and Ground are right and not getting hooked up backwards. They are the same gauge wire and nothing changed with the wiring except hooking up the new amp. I am stumped at this one.

And yes I was talking about the post next to the fuse box under the hood.

wrong fuse rating i'm guessing? If not, this is a problem with the amplifier. Did you see any "magic smoke"?

it cant be the fuses.... i mean hell i dont even know where to get bigger fuses than what i had which was the fat 60's. No smoke, nothing like that just as soon as the power wire get current it immediately blows the fuses in the distro block.

i am going to completely rewire it tomorrow but I am so utterly depressed... no bass for 3 days now

and yes... i saidd utterly

if u are 100% sure u didnt hook it up backwards and the fuses popped right away without the amp on then the amp is busted. power supply

does the amp have fuses on it? whats the rating on them

the amp has 6 50 watt fuses on it and i checked them and they are all good. There is no way I hooked the wires up backwards because I took the ground right off my capacitor and ran that to the ground on the amp and the power from my distro to the power on the amp.

the only think I havent done yet is run a second set of power, remote, and grounds to it because it has two sets of p/r/g spots

ok, so i feel like a tard... the amp has 2 sets of p/r/g right? yeah well if i would have actually looked at the amp i would have noticed that i was putting the power to the other ground post...... i feel like a complete moron now. But i got it figured out and will have it wired up CORRECTLY tomorrow and cracking pavement (and possibly my windshield)

Yea, you gotta remember, power doesn't always = loud. You can have 1.21 GIGAWATTS of power and without the right setup it can still sound weak. Post up some videos man, I'd love to see it.
