New usb mod....

well i hate charging things with my cig lighters...so i decided to wire up a usb brick...so now i can charge my iphone...bluetooth...camera anything usb really....total cost is around 20 bucks..i bought the usb hub off ebay for like 5 bucks...you also need some wire..fuses.i'll do a how to once installed...but works great...btw i'm a 06 so no usb or aux port i've wired both

i cut the trim to fit it close then fiberglassed the back...then alittle filler in the front

well finished it up not 100 % perfect but its cool cause i may change it around at some point..or flatin that center section

tapped the sunroof for power...then i'm using a 5v regulator and a inline fuse so if any more then 5 v's comes through it will pop the fuse

i'm a 06 i didnt even have a airbag light there lol

the other thing is aux port

no airbag light on mine either... i got the usb hum and a 12v to usb adapter... so im gona tap into an empty fuze slot and run it like that. i was also thinking of running one to the radio and making an aux port out of it for an ipod or whatever like the other how to thread going on now... just thought id throw it out for someone else

Did this to my car, I have a Car PC so its a little different but not too much. I actually used the airbag housing took it apart and made 2 usb ports fit they then goto a usb hub which is powered all the time. It dark but here is mine. Because I used the airbag housing I just have to pop it out if I ever need to replace anything. Doesn't flash just make are the dust and grease just shine Haha

Anyone know where I can get matched paint to repaint that bezel around the radio? Cheap crap has just chipped off with age thanks Chevy.

this is great, we need more of this stuff on here. its sad to say but we are among the worst modders in the car world. but stuff like this can make for some great expansions in the future
