OEM Connector for 06 Cobalt Amp?

Hey guys,

I recently purchased an 06 Cobalt LT Coupe with the options UQ3 & US8. Problem is that the vehicle was vandalized and the amp & stereo were stolen. Sub is still in the trunk though.

I am trying to figure out the wiring underneath the dash for the Amp, but it looks like it's missing some connectors down there, and the connector that is down there looks different from the oem amp.

I was checking here for OEM config: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/elec...-pinouts-2823/

Here is the only connector I can find under the dash. Is this OEM for 2006?

Here is the wiring for that connector

Any help would be appreciated.

they stole the stock amp? under the dash?

I mean that connector and twisted wiring looks like it may be something related to audio but i dont think the wire colors match up. (i could be wrong). Is that the only connector/wires you can find? the stock amp would have had 2-3 connectors

Yeah, it's gone from that harness thingy. The connector I took a picture of connects into those pigtailed connectors right above the harness. The other two? connectors are gone and I have no idea where they would even go. I found one other cut wire in that vicinity that went back to where the radio was, but that was it.

Looks like those wires from that connector by the amp trace back to where the radio was. Here's an image. Does the other connector by where the radio was look stock?

in that pic there that connector is for the stock XM radio. The cut twisted wires should be speaker wires so ya that would have went to the stock amp. The cut straight wires are aftermarket (white purple gray on the left)

that is total bullshit bro because they cant do anything with the stock amp. its pretty useless unless its paired with the 7 speakers from the cobalt.

Do this for me. Put a light to the front speakers and see if they are stock or after market. then look in the trunk to see if theres the stock sub/box and if the 6X9s are stock or aftermarket.

Ok thanks for the description, I think I get it now. Those straight aftermarket wires connect into the pigtailed connectors by where the amp was. At some point they must have added a new radio and bypassed the stock amp. Maybe amp was removed then. The pioneer in the trunk is still there and looks oem. I can't see any wiring back there for a sub amp, so they must have run the sub off the HU. Sometime later car was broken into and aftermarket radio was stolen.

that makes more sense. You could try popping the aftermarket wires with a battery to see what if any speakers are connected. Just use preferablly a 9v battery and touch each set (gray, purple ect) to it one at a time for a split second and see if you hear a noise. That will help you determine if the speakers are connected to those wires and what speakers are connected if so
