Rumor also has it that Pennsylvania State Police(PSP) and Onstar are testing out the accuracy of a 1/10th mile average speed to determine if a <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.qklinkserver.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=92&k=speeding%20ticket&st=1" onmouseover="window.status='Search for: speeding ticket'; self.ql_skeyphrase='speeding%20ticket'; if(window.event) self.ql_sevent=window.event.srcElement; self.ql_timeout = setTimeout('ql_doMouseOver(1)', 1000); self.ql_isOverLink=true; return true;" onclick="if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; ql_closeiframe(); self.ql_skeyphrase='speeding%20ticket'; window.status='Search for: speeding ticket';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; setTimeout('ql_closeiframe()', 1500); ">speeding ticket</a> can be issued. So basically the way the cards are "supposively" falling, an onstar equipped vehicle, which ALL GM cars will have Onstar by 2010, will be watched and ticketed by big brother. Tickets may be processed up to 30 days by law, and delivered by certified mail to the owner of the vehicle. Pennsylvania Departement of Transportation, PennDOT for short, has a points system when it comes to moving violations. With Onstar, speeding violations will be considered as a "Failure to obide by traffic control monitoring devices" which carries a fine the same as a speeding ticket, but does no point damage.

The only part of this info that I can confirm is that Onstar and PSP are testing the accuracy of VSS read out on the OnStar report. All <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.qklinkserver.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=92&k=the%20others&st=1" onmouseover="window.status='Search for: the others'; self.ql_skeyphrase='the%20others'; if(window.event) self.ql_sevent=window.event.srcElement; self.ql_timeout = setTimeout('ql_doMouseOver(1)', 1000); self.ql_isOverLink=true; return true;" onclick="if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; ql_closeiframe(); self.ql_skeyphrase='the%20others'; window.status='Search for: the others';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; if(self.ql_timeout) clearTimeout(self.ql_timeout); self.ql_isOverTip = false; setTimeout('ql_closeiframe()', 1500); ">the others</a> have been rumors that have been confirmed by knowledge sources through the PSP that would have authority to make this happen.

Just Curious, what if someone else is driving your vehicle? I am not calling you out or nothing.....this just made a bulb come on and wonder what would happen if things lkke this ever did come about what they would do if someone else was driving?

Then the car would have a laser retina checker to see if it was indeed someone else driving. Kinda like on Minority Report. lol.

Oh and there is some seriously funny reading in this thread about warranty being voided. I hope you guys dont eat in your car because guess what, your warranty may get voided.

I disagree completely, onstar has no right to make any modification to your car's driveability.

They suffer no risk or have insurable interest.

Onstar would lose their customers if it was actually out to screw people.

In court, they need to prove to a "legal degree of certainty" that you were speeding. GPS is also made purposely inaccurate to a certain degree for non-military use. The only judicial notice (recognized accepted methods) for proving speeding is radar, laser, vascar, and pacing.

I’m not sure about warranty issues with speeding. You would have to read the warranty agreement carefully to see if it states anything about that.

A warranty is a contract because it is a promise for a service, and they are restricted to the parameters stated by the contract.

like i said, THEY KNOW IT WAS ON THE TRACK...

had the catalytic converter replaced after the track sometime...

no void...sounds like your local dealer is hosing you for COD work.

GM's warranty promise DOES NOT VOID unless you A) fail to maintain the car B) alter the workings C) spray nitrous

just a few, but the key ones that apply to all our cars...
