one quick questions!

Hey guys, im replacing my front speakers... got the same ones mckeough uses (hertz) he's in the military and overseas currently so he said i could look for some advice on this site while he was gone.

anyway, obviously the stock speaker wire has a clip on the end and they just pop into the stock speaker. however, my aftermarket ones don't, they have just the little terminals like this:

so what im wondering is how do i connect the stock speaker wire? (im not running an amp to my speakers)... do i just cut the plug off, strip the wire and attach it somehow?

or can i use something like a female spade connector?

crimp the wire into one end, and slide the sleeve over the terminal on my speaker?

also, when i door the door panel off there was a little bit of water in my door. not very much, and its been raining very heavy the last few days, but the stock speaker had a bit of water on it... huge deal?

Thanks a lot guys!

edit: awesome, "one quick questions..." fail at english!

make sure the 4 holes on the bottom of the door arent covered... um ya buy the female spades. you can get them in insulated .250 (a little big) or non insulated .205 (perfect fit)
