AFR wiring question..

Hey guys,

So, I'm gonna wire up my AFR gauge when I get my header in a week or so. It's just a Narrowband (I know it'll just be a glorified light show), but it's fine for now. I guess there's two ways of wiring the connection. 1) to a wire under-hood or 2) to the 02 sensor in the header. I tried hooking this up awhile ago, but could never seem to locate the correct wire to hook it up to under the hood. Am I missing something? I heard it is a better signal if you use the actual sensor anyway, so should I just that if I'm under there anyway? I found a link (below) that has him doing the AFR up to the 02 on a VW. Would it be the same way for us? It seems like he simply removes the 02 and attaches the wire to it. I have to pull the sensor out to replace the header anyway - so why not? Any other input?

Thanks!!
