okay guys... i had a mercedes s-class... the quietest car in the world. cancelling all road noise, and trunk rattling, and everything... so i had to get a 1000 watt rms amp, with 2 500 watt 12" type Rs... extremly loud with the trunk open, but when closed, you barely hear anything. same story inside. hard to hear it...



but i have one problem... if i put this in my cobalt... im afraid all i will hear will be bass.

will it be too much bass?

 

just dont max your amp, and take off all the bass from the car speaker and ajust what u need in bass with the amp, it should be allright

 

I recommend just one type r in a properly built box tuned for the type r. This is what I've done and the sound is amazing. Tons of accurate bass without rattling everything apart.

 

im thinking about this too... but i have a box built specifically for 2 type R's... now i have to sell 1 sub with a box that has 2 subs in it. lmaoo

or should i upgrade speakers and tweeters? so i will have highs that will make my hears bleed. and bass that will pop my ear drums?

 

just put it in the car and go from there. if its too loud turn it down.
