Pioneer avic f900bt

Just got my Pioneer avic f900bt(2.0) and looked up the hack to play video while moving(avic411), I'll be installing it tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well.....

Does this have a hard drive/operate off an SD card or does it require DVD's for the NAVI to work?

Does anyone notice the volume on this install is extremly low? Anyone got any tips on how to get the volume in my speakers back? I have the GMOS-LAN-04. does it have to do with the volume for the chimes too?
