i am looking at getting the pinoeer d-1 double din and i have a few questions

1) will it fit
2) is it xm ready
3) is this the right double din to get

 

1) Yes but you need a custom dash kit to make it look good.
2) Yes sir, it acutally uses XM Navtraffic to help with the navigation
3) Sure if thats your ish.

 

i heard i needed to use an extra box to use the xm function n also, can i still use my strreing wheen controls

 

Yes, you need to buy a seperate XM Tuner box that Pioneer makes. You can buy a steering wheel control interface from PAC.

I have had the pics for awhile, but I am selling this unit as soon as I can and upgrading to the Z1.





I couldn't do anything with the wires underneath so I just lit them up lol. I am going for the double-din as soon as it comes out.

Z1 is the new Pioneer Double-DIN navigation system coming out in a couple of months. This link has some pictures of the Pioneer. The Z1 has a built in hard drive, bluetooth, better GPS, better interface, upgraded Ipod interface, better sound quality, ect.

 

the d1 is amazing. yet you need a crazy kit to make it fit. the radio in a cobalt is a double din and a half. yet the d1 is smaller than it. i got a half din pocket for a cobalt i did at my store and loooked tight. Its Xm ready as well as it has the xm navtraffic. yet if u have the music controls u can hoook that into ur deck buy patch cables..its a bitch to do. it sucked. i would wait get the new one out..called a z1..its the same with put has a built in dvd player. ne other questios..get back to me man

 

also the Z1 is a 7" screen, where as the D1 and d2 is a 6.5"

i also have the AvicN2, and will be selling it very soon to get the N3, i HATE the ipod interface on these things
