Yes! New Pioneer Nav Units

Pioneer is releasing new navigation systems in a month or two - save up your money. The new 3 models are the Avic-D2, Avic-N3, and the Avic-Z1. They have some insane features. Just search for them on Yahoo to pull up some info. For reference the D2 and Z1 are both double-DIN units and the N3 is a single.

Finally, a double-din navigation system that also has dvd playback and supports xm. I have been waiting for one that supports everything and the Z1 looks like a winner.

If anyone can find some good pictures of it somehow, please post

EDIT: Found some

If I can find a shop that can fabricate a bracket that is a satin nickel finish to match the cobalt's interior, that would be a perfect oem clean look.

Yeah, the Z1 does not look as nice, but the specs are much more impressive and it looks stock.

Yeah, I didn't want to get the D1 or now the D2 because it didn't have the features I wanted, and I refused to get a pop and slide out one.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Pioneer updated their site today with specs and whatnot on the N3 and D2 but I did not see the Z1 on there yet.

I have yet to see a cobalt with a double din nav system installed. Everyone seems to like the single din slide outs.

Also, is there anyway to keep the wheel controls with the older models like the N2/3 or D1/2 ? If so, that would give some hope for the new Z1. I would love to keep the wheel controls.

And since you already have the N2 installed, where you able to just use your stock XM antenna setup to that unit?

You can get an interface for the steering wheel controls from PAC. No, I did not use the factory XM antenna. It can be done, but it is cheaper to use the Pioneer supplied antenna. It is only as big as a half dollar.

Did you remove the oem xm antenna?

interested to know if any of these units will work with the steering wheel controls... I love mine and I wouldn't want to be without.

Like stealth said above, you can get that PAC adapter. From what I read, as long as the headunit supports a wireless remote of some type, the PAC can program your steering wheels controls as if they were the remote.

No, the stock antenna is still on the roof. I would not recommend removing it.
