pioneer headunit

how do i upload pictures to a pioneer headunit i tried with a sd card but it didnt work, it said unreadable file.
I have a pioneer 4200 headunit, the new one where the scren flips down

pictures too big? Check to see if there's a resolution or file size limit. double check the formats that the unit is compatible with too
