speakers have a good sensitivity rating thats pretty darn good......just make sure you amplify your speakers otherwise your not utilizing all that power......if you do it right the 6x9 sound like lil subs lol and extremely clear and u dont need three way for the front....only for the back and u dont need the front speakers to be three way two ways are more then good enough

try and get a better amp if you can. I would stay away from power akustik overall but their amps are worse then their speakers

emp, overall do u think it would be a decent system since the amp is rated at 500 and the subs are made for 400, cuz u said power akustic is kinda iffy

im not trying to spend more that 600 range

all that is 550 or so shipped

That system put together would be pretty good yeah. I have two 10" JBL subs in the back. Their peak 1000 watt and the Alpine amp is giving them 430 RMS. Some people would say that having two amps is a waste but I disagree, You'll get purer sound from both the speakers and the sub that way. I'm not finished with my system yet though. But I can tell you you'll like the bass you're gonna get. I'm gonna get some Infinity 6.5" for the front and some 6x9 for the back. I'm looking for an amp though...

decent yes.

look at this HU instead audiobahn is worse then PA

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=6353

I tried looking for something better amp wise and i can find you a better sub amp for 20 bucks more but not a better mids amp. And honestly a better mids amp would do alot more then a better sub amp (you cant hear distortion quite so bad on the lows but on the mids right in your ear **** ya you can)

If you dont mind loosing a pair of speakers or something i can probably get you a much better system for that price range. If you were local for 600 i could get you a system that blows most of this stuff out of the water but your not

Oh and look for a 2 channel amp not a mono block. those subs are 4 ohm and you would only get half power fyi

if found a different setup, still same watts and stuff, but the mono amp is set for 400rms and the pair of subs is 400rms so wouldnt this be ok?

i will pm u my new set up im looking at, btw this is all tentative, i will probably start this in the spring or late winter

by the way that head unit only has 1 pre amp output, since im doing a 2 amp set up dont i need 2 pre amp outputs?

Technically 3. Infact if you only have 2 preouts then you might as well get a 2 channel and run the front and rear speakers in parallel

replied to the PM too

The speakers look okay... personally I would try out kicker or alpine though, as for the amps, well I can't say too many good things.. the subs you'll have to watch out for as rockford is slowy going down the drain (subs have a bad habit of blowing prematurely, splitting the surrounds and the actual cone it self)
that HU is gonna be cheap and probably won't sound too great, seeing as the preouts are probably going to be no more than 3.0 vrms, I could be wrong... anyways, seriously i'd get your system in pieces, get a nice HU and Sub/Amp, than save up for fronts and rears and an amp to power it, I think you'd be alot happier .. my own opinion though

idk i kinda wanna do it all in one shot and have it be decent

i wanna finish my car by my senior year

the headunit has 2 pre amp outputs and one for a mono amp, 3 total and they are at 4 volts each

like I said my own opinion, anywho 4 vrms isn't bad, its middle line now a days, but seriously about the subs, just be careful with em, rockford has a bad rep with their punch series, other than that everything should kick into place, post some pics when you get it all installed!
(edit) you could go for a Kicker CVR, 12 inch with box for close to the same price, more reliable and a very very good sub...

i will look into that, i might just get the subs without a box and make my own

so if i run 2 of these 2ohm subs:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+05CVR102.html

with this amp wire at 2ohms:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...1+-Black-.html

i would be good? cuz the amp is 600rms at 2ohms, and the subs are 300rms each, and 2ohms

so i would wire like this:
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/...2-ohm_mono.jpg

that wiring diagram is good, thats how your going to want to wire them to a D mono block...
the amp i'm not too familar with, but it will power those subs just fine, if you are willing to spend a little more this amp will be perfect and you'll find your self quite happy with the power it pushes.

i would but im liking the set up now, its just under 500 with out boxes and wiring

which shouldnt be more than another 100 or so

now im going with infinity references dual voice coils at 250 rms each

i found the same brand amp that looks identical and is a 2 channel with 250 rms x 2 at 2ohms, so i could wire the dual voice coil subs to a 2 ohm load and this would work?

ps im using the wiring diagrams from crutchfield

oh come on you fosgate is the best he has out of the line up. And no offence but i would take 2 p2s prefab over 2 cvrs in a sealed box. I dont know your woodworking skills but the box will make more of a difference then the subs

im just going by what I know, I used to install car stereos so I dealt with alot of stuff, and lately the rockford punch series has been the craps, which is why we stopped carrying it and replaced rockford with JL.. and yes true, box makes a big diffrence, but i'm just saying I don't trust the p2's one bit..
but as for the infinty subs, you can wire them for 2ohms if the sub is rated for 2ohm
if its the refrence series though, they are rated for 2 or 8, so you will be safe with a 2ohm wiring, anywho seriously though imput is great helps to decide, but go with what your gonna be happy with!

when did you drop RF? the old series punch subs (05) were crap but the new models are alot better. P2s and P3s are actually surprising honestly.

Infinity should sound cleaner and fosgates should be louder but its very much box dependent.

Personnally, I wouldn't pick up anything on your list but the subs.

6x9 (~$60)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+KFC-X692.html

6.5 (~$60)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+KFC-X172.html

4-chan amp (~$180)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...n+KAC-X40.html

Granted, it will cost about $100 more then what you picked for this, but the sound will be a whole lot better. That site isn't too bad on prices, about $150 less then you could get those most other places I looked. I'd also go with the headunit EJJ picked out or another brand.

Ok, for the bass now...

full size subs
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...C-XW1022D.html

or slimline subs...
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...C-XW1000F.html

How you power them is up too you, but I would avoid the non-eXcelon stuff from Kenwood.

Oh, head unit...
