Off topic, but since topic was answered where do you get the wires to hardwire a Cobra radar detector in. Wanna hook it up to the fuse box and it only comes with a cigarette lighter plug. heard theres like some universal things that will work

You can find power input pieces like the one that plugs into the radar detector at "The Source" Just wire any power wire up to a plug that fits and then into the fuse box via an add a fuse. If you decide to splice into a wire somewhere make sure you put a fuse on the line close to the spot where you splice into.
You could wire the power line to the board in the radar detector but unless your really handy with a sodering iron I don't suggest it.
You can also just cut the end off the wire that came with the detector and use that rather than getting a new one but then your going to see that spot where you connected the 2 wires together

to tap into a fuse you just gotta pull the fuse out, put a piece of wire in then push the fuse back in i believe. I havent dont it myself yet but iv seen it done and watched my buddy do it before.

that is one way of doing it.. another way is tapping into the wire.. you can use a lighter to burn off the coating and then wrap the wire around it and solder and tape it off.. you dont have to use solder but its always better.
