Question PTY message in display all the time??!!

My husband was playing with the buttons on my 2006 ss radio and now PTY is on the display all the time. He can not remember what he pushed but it was working fine when I got out of the car and 10 minutes later he screwed it up. It has been 3 months and I am tired of seeing PTY ROCK on my screen. I miss being able to see the song and artist. I am not using the satelite just am/fm. Also it seems I have a CD stuck in the player and I dont think I am missing any CD's (unless husband was playing again). I cant get another to go in and when you get into the car it says CHECK DISK on the display. HELP? will disconnecting the battery help?

I think what happened, is that your husband triggered Party (PTY) mode, and now.....

The party never stops!!!!

Have you been having more fun lately?? You should be, or I would take it in for a warranty repair.

Okay, I'm just kidding. I would disconnect the battery cable for a few seconds, then reconnect it. It won't lock your radio.

ya i missed this thread. Disconnecting the battery will clear the memory and get it out of party mode if that's whats going on (i didn't have the stock hu long enough to find out) but if a cd is stuck in there and you disconnect the battery there's a chance the hu will forget it has a cd in there as well making the eject no longer work and cd player forever jammed

Me thinks that ppl oughta check the owners manuals before posting up stuff like this. It's given to you with the car for a reason. Now, if the car was bought used and the manual wasn't with it, that's another story

lol funny thing is i ever tried reading the manual fully when i bought my car. back when i was going to college i skipped a class to read my manual in a park on campus (i wasn't going anyway but needed to get out of the house) after 20 pages or so that was the end of that
