can you add an amp?
Yes.

How much power?
maybe 100-200.

How long will it last?
Undetermined.

I figure the subwoofer is sitting in my room,so I should put it to good use or maybe I can find something better that hooks up the same way the pioneer does in the trunk

the 10 woofer you are refuring to comes in any cobalt that opted for the pioneer system upgrade. It already has a 200watt pioneer amp hooked up to the 10 inch woofer that comes stock with it.

Sorry I wasn't too specific, but I am assuming that a better amplifier would work maybe on the 10 inch sub,Just wanted to know if anyone has done that yet.
