and also gm puts codes in their radios, they say for security reasons, so when you put in the radio it may say locked and you will have to get the code for it. this happened to me w/ my stock radio when i tried to put it back into my car after having it out for a while and they told me it was gonna be like $80 for the code so i said screw that.

i think it can be done, what you need, wiring harness from the avalanche, and a wiring diagram (schematic) for both the avalanche and the cobalt, i have acsess to both. PM me for details

its a radio and wiring...it can b done...just simply get a harness for the cobalt...and a reverse harness for that radio. u just have to wire it up rite and it shud work..there shud not b a anti theft code. the cobalt doesnt have a anti theft, from wut i know of. get back to me if u have ne questions...im not sure if it will work...u mite have to make some custom fitting for it in your car. it shud work with the right stuff..also u will need a right antenna adapter as well. let me know

Ummm the cobalt my not have a anti theft code...but they are BUILT into radios...so it doesnt matter the avalance most likely does have this coding.

if you need the code give me a shout. I was a GM Certified mechanic and I can still get a hold of master codes to unlick the unit. But you should first ask the seller.

Come to think of it, that radio will work just fine because it's the same damn radio that they tied up with the 07' SS/SC Pioneer system. I wan't one damnit!!

If the plugs are different the only way you're likely to get it to work is to cut the factrory plug off the cobalt and put the factory avalanche plug on in its place. You could try getting an aftermarket connector for the cobalt but the aftermarket harness isn't going to have pins/wires for all the factory connections (eg LAN wire(s), steering wheel controls). Plus, then you'd still have the trouble of finding a connector that will plug into the back of the avalanche.....

dont cut the wiring...just splice the wiring and use the rev. harness for the new radio. only think is...steering wheel controls..if u have them..most likely u might lose them..im not to sure.
