Question on RMS and speaker hookup
Question on RMS and speaker hookup
just a lil bit confused here. I'm looking at the Infinity Kappa's (693.7i) that have and RMS of 2-110 @ 2ohm. Now the amp I am looking at is MBQuart that gives RMS power @ 2 Ohms: 160W x 4. Is that overpowering the speaker by too much? Or should I bump up to 250 RMS power @ 2 Ohms: 160W x 4 and just connect the 2 speakers on one port? Or should I underpower them a little with RMS power 100 @ 2ohms

Okay so im no wizz but the kappa's are subs and from what it sounds like ur runnin a 4 channel amp usaully used for the speakers in your vehicle. iono i may be completely wrong tho don"t kno much about either company
Correction looked it up and infinity makes there speakers in the kappa line too haha. and by under powering them by 10rms i doubt ull notice a difference always better to be safe then sorry and over doing it and blowing those nice new speakers

100w on vocal speakers will make you go deaf before you burn the voice coil... what blows door speakers is low notes (high pass filter fixes that) bad install and every so often shitty music/distortion
