quick radio question

Hey guys,

Just successfully installed my radio.. Everything works good.. Except it seems that it may be losing settings after being off for a little bit.. If you turn the power off then back on, you're good.. But I went back down to the car to set up my Sirius, and the settings were back to factory.. Am I missing something or did I not wire something up correctly with the memory retention? Or do you just need to drive it for a little before it keeps them? That'd seem odd.. I've already done two radios in this car, but they were both single-din and with basic features.. This 3100dvd is a bit crazier.. Or maybe it's not a wire but rather just a very technical radio.. lol And thus the settings are automatically going back to stock via factory settings..

Any ideas..?? Thanks!

Before anyone asks, I ran the power wire to the source as well as a switched fuse because otherwise, running just under constant power, the radio wouldn't turn off.. Anyone have any idea or do you need a picture?

I hooked up my own radio so i'm trying to remember, but it sounds like the constant power or something isn't hooked up correctly. I'd go back and check the wiring again. The radio always has constant power going to it for it's settings and keeping time. That's why when you disconnect the battery you lose all your settings and have to set the time again.

So yellow to yellow, corect? When I did that, it wouldn't turn off. So how do I get it to turn off via the switched power? The switched power is running to the fuse.. So it seems like something isn't jive-ing correctly.. I believe I just took the radio end of the yellow and spliced it into extra cable and ran it to the ground.. So, yes, that'd be the issue.. So I need to run yellow to yellow.. But then how do you get the switched power?

the switched power should be the red wire. this is what runs from the hu harness to the fusebox bypassing the car harness altogether
