Hey guys, I was wondering if you can give some recommendations of radar detectors that you guys have used personally. I was thinking of the Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector? But like i said i'm wanting your personally experience with radar dectectors

I have never used a radar and don't have one. Don't feel the need but I have heard good things about valentine one, the passport 8500 and 9500.

I need one bad. I've gotten like 6 tickets and it's only mid year, half for speeding. I have to go before the judge tomorrow for another ticket, so i'm trying to take the offensive with the radar detector

...your friend is an idiot then who is over confident in his radar detector, they are an aid not a fail-safe

Try slowing down...

Anyways, the Passport 8500 x50 is awesome for the price (under $250), but if you can afford to go ***** out $400+ then the 9500i, Valentine V1 or Belltronics STI Driver are all admirable choices. Personally I'd go with the 9500i though, the GPS marking and speed sensitivity is an AWESOME feature.

Holy cow. Did he get jail time? In some places 30 over is immediate arrest.

lol nope. it helps when your dad is a millionaire and knows all the judges in the county. he got the tickets reduced to no points, just fines. lol he got pulled over by the same cop twice two days after he got a new g8.

I got the passport 9500i and it is amazing! Great response to all bands. You can store false alarms and you can mark places that you know the police sit. It has GPS and it even tells you the speed you are going! If you can afford it go with it! I had the 8500 first and this is hella better!
