Radar Detector Question

Not sure if this is the right forum, but seemed to be the best fit. I am curious what, if any, radar detectors are being used by most. I am trying to find a used Valentine 1 to buy or trade for, but a friend of mine swears by the Solo. Also I am thinking cordless, but have heard it is not as good as corded.

Anyway let me know what you think, and if you got a V1 you want to part with

Forgot to add got a speeding ticket the 2nd day I had my car, and this is my first ticket in 12 years. Starting to re-think the yellow color.

Why not just stop breathing, and then trade my car in for an Aveo! No really in this case I was not "speeding" you know like when you know you are and do it anyway. I was just keeping up with traffic flow, and the limit dropped from 40 to 30 and bam, he picked me off. I drive this stretch of road 3 times a week, and always in my Copper Murano before and never got a ticket......

Could just be bad timing. To make matters worse he gives me the ticket and say, sorry I ruined your day, but if it makes you feel any better, I love your car.

the cordless ones run out of battery very quickly. my buddy had the solo and it ran out in less than 3 weeks. just hard wire and corded one and it will look great. valentine is the way to go if you want to have the best, try ebay, you might find a steal. a guy i work with is selling a valentine for like $100 i think, but im not sure if he can be trusted, i dont know him that well yet...

Check the classifieds on this forum there was a member selling his valentine detector. I have a cobra but i dont use it anymore. It was only a 100 worked decent but when i moved i made the mistake of sitting it next to my subs and the internal speaker got damaged. I soldiered in a new speaker from a pair of headphones but the volume sucks on it now. However i would be interested in the radar jammer someone else is selling in the classifieds. Check that section out you can find alot of good stuff for sale

I like a couple of the others on here have the escort 8500 x50. If you went with this I would suggest doing what I did and buy the hardwire kit for it. When you put it in run the wires around the dash and under the dash so they can't be seen. That way you don't really see the wires nor do you tie up one of your power outlets.

Oh yeah I got a ticket (Got me using laser though) a couple weeks ago but the cop cut it in half and told me if I were to speed only go like 10 over. Still sux nonetheless.

Same here passport 8500 Blue it was like $340.00 worth every penny and better than Valentine. Saved my ass many times coming over hill, bridges, and about a 2mi distance! This radar dectecter warns you with plenty time.

No problems with my V1. Once you go with the arrows and boogey counter you never go back.

the only thing the arrows are good for is locating the nearest 7-11
