SOLUTION: Rear View Mirror

having problem with my rear view mirror... when my radio is up and i have my amp on i can't see out the back lol... thats not the problem tho lol... my mirror keeps sliding down and it annoys the **** outta me... if you got a good system this will happen... WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT!?!?!?

FIXED

THERE ARE TWO POINTS IN THE STAND FOR THE REAR VIEW MIRROR... THE FIRST JOINT IS THE LOOSE ONE THAT ALWAYS FALLS... SO WAT I DID WAS PUSH IT ALL THE WAY DOWN SO IT CAN'T FALL DOWN LOL AND THE SECOND JOINT (THE ONE ATTACHED TO THE WINDSHIELD) I PUSHED UP TILL I COULD SEE OUT THE BACK... WORKS LIKE A CHARM

haha yeah i have 2 kicker comp vr 12''s and a 1,500 watt amp in my car and had the same issue...the mirror will move once u hit that certain volume and there isnt really anything to do at all. Seriously like said above duct tape would work haha...unless you bought another mirror with a stronger hindge. I personally just ignored it! It's not like you can see to much when its vibrating to all hell anyways!

lol ya thats a pain and pretty much a problem on all cars... there is a little bit you can do to stop it but it would be extreme

You would probably want to buy a new one just in case any problems pop up but you dont have to *disclaimer ive yet to try this seeing as i dont have a system but it should work. Once i get a system in i do plan on doing this but im very very slow on installing stuff so dont wait around for me to do it*

Anyway what you going to want to do is basiclly disassemble the actual mirror and depending on how its setup (i have an idea on how i think it is but i could be wrong) i would spray some liquid sound dampener on the inside of the back part of the mirror housing but put an actual mat product on the back of the mirror itself and depending on how much extra "room" there is in there fill it with more mat/liquid or something like second skin motor mat (i know its not for that purpose but it would work well imo) i would then when reinstalling this mirror put a layer of mat inbetween the mirror and the glass along with a thin line of superglue on all exterior connecting parts other then what holds it to the glass

ima try the electrical tape and see if that works cuz i'd rather not take the mirror apart and put stuff in it... lol i think it'd weigh it down wouldn't it... to where it wouldn't stay up anyway...

tell me how that goes... i actually came up with that idea for my camaro and i just looked at the balt one and they are completely different so it wouldnt work.... on the balt the mechanism that moves the mirror is external so the only way to stop it from moving is to stop that little ball from moving. but you will then lose some function to your mirror. In the camaro it was internal to the mirror so you could try to stop the vibrating of the actual mirror itself and see whats up from there

i didn't stop the mirror from completely moving... i jus made it so that when it does vibrate that the mirror doesn't fall and i can still seee a figure of whats behind me when i look out the rear view mirror... get wat i mean lol... it's not a fool proof plan but it works...
