rearview mirror compass color change?

I'm installing a new rearview mirror with compass and was wondering if anyone new if or how to change the display color?

open the thing up and change the led in it like the dash?

I don't think its going to be that easy. The compass seems to be a tiny little 7 segment display, which I doubt you'll be able to modify the LED in. Although, I may be completely wrong...
