Remote Start/ Alarm install

My G/f is afraid that if we install remote start and alarm in her car that Her entire warente (sp) will be voided, I am very good at wiring and Will be working with My best friend who is a Deisel mechanic, I'm not worried about doing it wrong, but Is it true that they can void the warrentee over that? I don't think so, but she needs some coaxing...She told me that they will only accept it if she has it done at Best buy or Tweeter or some place like that....

it will only void the warrenty if it is found that your wiring is the direct cause of a problem that you are having with your car.....talk to the dealer cause each dealer has a different opinion if your dealer says no try another one!

and remote starters are 90% of the time not at fault. The install is at fault.. When doing a starter NO wires whould be cut, so stopping a car from running is something new to me,.

yeah i would be worried about installing it yourself because the cobalt has passlock III and a special version of the passlock II system which is a bitch...i just had mine put in and it works well..and the dealer said that they have to prove its the remote start that causes fault to the engine...and if it does than i can take it back to where i had the remote start put in as they give lifetime warrante
