remote tap in trunk?

anyone know if there is a remote tap in the trunk.. i read a thread that suggested the teal wire that goes to the subwoofer could act as a remote.. i tapped into it rather then cutting and splicing and unfortunatly it doesnt work.. thanks for the help! or is it the pink wire under the dash?

this is on a 08 cobalt ss

Pretty sure the only wires going to the sub are the 4 signal wires, so they won't work.

There shouldn't be anything you could use back there, there isn't anything that is ignition on in the trunk. You might be able to find something under the car like Evap or some ****, but for that much work just run a wire up to the fuse panel, its much easier.

What for? There is a fuse panel under the center cluster, use that.

There is a grommet above the brake pedal where a harness runs through the firewall, I usually use that to run nitrous lines or wiring.

there is a wire in the back going to the sub that can be used.. off the top of my head i belive it was the teal or the brown wire it had 7 volts and i used that one... however when i unlock my trunk or hit the unlock on the key fob you here the amp kick on and the subs energize then the amp kicks back off a few second later... (been this way for mon without prob or dead battery)

so im not sure what i tapped into but i do know i have 4 10" kicker comp cv10 and the factory sub in my trunk and it takes my breath away when i put on bass cd's lol

it was the top left corner of the 4 pin connector use a voltage tester

well normally anything yellow is airbag related to some point... lol hit the yellow thing in your bumper with a hammer and see what happens

it may or may not be airbag related but i wouldnt chance it, tread softly

not on thew bumper itself. on the front metal support in the middle behind the metal (or on the side closest to the firewall)

Its a black box with a yellow sticker on it IIRC, the plug might be yellow as well. Its just a warning thing, as all airbag stuff is usually powered 24/7 and can be activated by any impact, along with the fact that it will **** you up if you're not ready for it.

lol that's not really the issue at hand. if they go off when you are hit that's normal but how much fun will it be if you unplug something trying to install some subs and either 2 or 4 airbags in your car decide to go off?

not only is it going to be loud and possibly **** you up you cant just put em back and pretend it didn't happen. Getting them from the dealer is probably gonna run you what 500 a piece... pricey bill to pay
