Remote Wire Question

Well....don't bother splicing into it if you're just running one amp. The headunit will have the remote out (blue or blue/white), so you just connect it to that wire. Anywhere. Cut it, solder it, look menacingly at it until it works.....it's up to you.

^^^Yeah
Big question is, are you installing an aftermarket HU or running with the stock one.

If its aftermarket, its easy, but if you have the Pioneer system it changes the way you have to do it a bit, the remote has to hook up with the car as well as go to the amp, just twist all 3 wires (HU, Car, and wire to go to the amp)together. If not its just one wire that runs back, connect it with the HU wire and run it back to the amp.

If your keeping the stock HU then you need a LOC and thats a whole other discussion

its an aftermarket headunit so if i'm reading your post right then it the 2nd of my 2 pictures just from the headunit to the amp and not the car

bump for more help. i was talking to a friend and they were saying they always just hooked there remote wire to the fuse for there cig lighter since its not a constant when u turn the car on it tells the amp to turn on and when u turn it off the amp shuts down. i'm thinking of doing this instead of chopping up my harness.

Ok out of the radio harness there should be a blue with a white stripe wire (the remote wire) Hook that up the the wire you have running to your amp. Did you put the radio in your car? Do you have the factory pioneer sound system?

Your radio should have a blue with a white stripe wire coming out of it. You should just be able to hook that wire up to the remote wire for your amp and you will be good to go!!

you can either use the blue/white wire from the back of the HU and splice a remote wire then run it to your amp

or do you what just said and stick a small wire into the wiper or sunroof fuse then run that back to the amp, im think the cig fuse is constant power, i may be wrong tho.

If you can use the head unit, its easier.
The Blue/White wire coming from your new HU, twist a piece of wire to the end of it and run it back to the amp, connect it to the remote terminal on the amp and your done.

The remote coming off the HU has a delay on it, this is to avoid feedback (poping noise) through your speakers. It delays the amp/s from turning on and off for a couple seconds.
It used to be that you could set the delay time in the HU (2-5 sec) but I haven't seen a HU with that function for a while

BTW- since you don't have the Pioneer system you don't have a remote wire coming from the car itself, mainly because you don't have a stock amp that needs a remote wire. So you don't have to hack up your harness, if you take the red and blue piece away from the top of your second picture, and have just the blue wire from the HU to the amp, then you have got it right.
