Hey whats up,
Is it a pain in the ass running speaker wires into the front doors?Im installing a set of jl components and im wondering if it will be a bitch.Its not just a rubber boot right?It has the molex connector correct?Thanks

its not hard just kinda time consuming, you have to take off that seal on the outside of the door, i had to run the wire through these little slots on the plastic part thats under that seal.

imo its hard to explain but you will figure it out easy when u start poking around down there

I bought pins from our parts department soldered 12 guage speaker wire to the pins and put them into empty cavities in the door plug. it took about ten minutes per side. its pretty straight forward and easy to do. hope this helps.

any GM dealership if you have power windows ands locks you will need 8 pins totall. go to the dealership and to parts and tell them you need some wiring pins from tray 8 and four pin number 15304717 and four 15304724. if you have manual windows/locks then you need pins from tray 19 and still need four and four of 12191812 and 15304702

Well, when I do door lock actuator or something like that, I just drill out the empty spots on the plug. I like the pin idea. Much cleaner. But, pretty much, you have to go through the door harness to get speaker wire into the door.

I did it. It was not that bad. I just found a slot around the plug. Took a little time but worth it.

The pins sound like a good idea,but id rather just run the wire in as one piece.Kinda sucked cause i had to run 2 sets of 12 gauge into the door.1 for the speaker and 1 for the tweeter.I didnt wanna mount the x-over behind the door panel cause i dont want it to get wet.I finished running the wires into 1 door before.It wasnt that bad.I just cut a notch in the connector and fed the wire through it.

Nice. 2 runs of 12 gauge. I was worried about 2 runs of 14 gauge, but doesn't look too bad.

I drilled out the empty pins in the connector, one 14 guage and one 16 gauge went into each door, wasn't to bad. (Tested to make sure two 10 gauge wires would work) Pictures are up on here already somewhere, I will search for them.
