Signal Boosters

So I just installed my AntennaX shorty antenna last night. Looks great, even with the adapter (I was able to pull the sleeve down most of the way to give it a better flow)

BUT...

I've lost so much signal. I listen to the radio all the time and honestly, I don't care how it looks, if this is going to cost me radio reception then it is not going to stay. What I really wanna know is if any of you guys have used or know anyone who has used a radio signal booster that plugs in line from antenna to radio? If it really helps, I may look into one.

"XM Radio FTW"

"I didn't lose any reception"

Ok I got it out of the way for you Any help would be great.

I actually got a hair brained idea today. I stripped some coaxial cable and removed the wire braiding in tact I slid if over the antenna and the signal sounds a little better. My interior is apart at the moment so I will drive it later. If it works I will prob take some heat shrink insulation and shrink it to cover up the braid (and probably give it a nice smooth finish up and down covering the adapter)

If it works a How-to is on the way
