Sirius or XM

im considering gettiong either of the two for Christmas, wither the Sportster 5(sirius) or the Delphi XpressRC (XM)

I just wanted to see if anyone has either of these and how do you like it? WHy did you choose Sirius over XM or vice versa. The only thing that i wish Sirius had was MLB, thats pretty much the only thing only my decision up and the XM seems like it has a nicer screen layout with the option of a split screen.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

They're pretty much the same now so it doesn't matter.

they are the same company now, I have the older gen sportser and love it. I get both sirius and XM channels now since the merge. I have a pic in my gallery of it mounted on my dash.

for those WITH XM or Sirius, are there any commercials, i heard since the merge theres been alot, is it to the point it gets annoying? overall how is the audio quality?

Hows the reception while driving? How often does it lose reception or get static?

is there alot of repetition in the music that is played like there is on regular FM radio nowadays? like if i listen to one station for a full day will i end up hearing the same songs over and over?

heres what they both look like:

it doesn't matter what reciever you buy, they pick up the same channels. The only thing that is different is the channel numbers. So you have alot to choose from.

The quality is 64kbp/s which is half the quality of a cd or about the same as a FM radio station.

As for the reception, there are someplaces it will drop out but it doesn't get staticy or anything, it just works or it doesn't. And the reception depends on where you place the antenna, i have found the roof or the trunk give you the full three bars.

And for the repitition, i beleive there is more variety, there has to be as there is no commercials.

audio quality is great, although it's somewhat quieter compared to the regular radio so you have to turn it up more. Reception is pretty good besides under bridges it may cut off for a second. On the regular stations there are no commercials but on the sports channels there are.
