sony xav-60

ive seen this touchscreen deck around and it seems pretty good. wondering if anybody else has it or has seen it? what do you think of it? and the guy at the store told me i need to buy the $150 harness or else ill end up messing something up. i have installed car stereos before without every messing anything up? should i listen to him, or will a regular 20 dollar gm harness do? he works on commission

The harness he is talking about is to keep the door chimes/onstar. If you don't have it you will lose them.

This HU looks nice as far as features are concerned, but the interface looks a little cheap. Anyone have one they can give some info on?

its all set up, no harness of any type whatsoever. every wire was cut and attatched manually but i have a few problems. sometimes(not all) everything is reset when i turn the car off, maybe a loose connection with the constant connection. the other problem is that my amp isnt working. i have a pioneer amp that i had always been using, i plugged in the rca cables properly and attatched the remote wire but maybe its loose. i will be fixing it up tomorrow and ill let everyone know how it is. the deck seems great, it was slow at first but now its like it needed to be warmed up, if i get those two problems fixed it will be well worth the money. ill post more info as well as pictures tomorrow.

i have an 05 used ls. it came with a cheap aftermarket headunit which i found out today the original owner didnt use a harness, and had no factory harness at all. When i said i cut every wire, i just meant all the wires were already cut and i had to attach each one individually.

Couldn't find any reference to that Metra harness on Google or eBay. Wiring harness correct? I already have the PAC unit installed on an old Pioneer deck in the car now, so I shouldn't need a harness anyways, right? If not will that Metra work on an 07' SS as well?
