I will probably put a 2"-3" port tube closer to the front of the door panel to let it breathe and move some of the sound further forward. I might try them without port tubes first to see how they sound. If they sound decent, I won't bother hacking a hole in the door panel for a port tube!
That should be an awesome setup if it works out ok. Be sure to post some pics when your done. Ever consider adding a center speaker on your dash?

good job, sucks that out trunk opening is so small, limits our possibilities.

For one, if i get a flat my spare is useless because of the body kit, and for another, i have 2 batteries, one on each side, and the amp is sunk into the floor where the original battery was, then a piece of lexan over top of it, then a piece of carpet to lay over that when not at shows, that way i can still carry a full size spare. the jack, tools and cleaning supplies will be behind the rear seats... I am also planning on runflat tires the next time i need tires, cause it would suck to get a flat in the car as it sits now... lol!!!

I'll put some pics up once I get my system done. As of now all I have is a Kenwood Double Din DVD Player in.

However I am planning on changing that unit and getting a double din DVD/Nav unit installed. Plus I am planning on a complete system makeover. Just trying to draw out all the details first before I go ahead. One thing is for sure, I am getting allot of good ideas from you guys on here.

So far some of my ideas are:
  1. changing the DVD HU to a DVD/Navi HU - maybe the pioneer Avic D3 or the Kenwood DNX7100
  2. Changing the factory sub - either replacing the factory 10" with a much better 10" or disconnecting it altogether and putting in my 12" Infinity which is in a box.
  3. Adding an amp to power the sub directly.
  4. Changing the factory speakers - looking at either focal or JL Audio 6.5 components for the front and again either focal or JL 6/9's for the back.
  5. Thinking about adding a center channel speaker on the dash for 5.1 surround sound - looking at the pioneer TS-CX7 speaker.
  6. Will replace the factory amp with a better AMP to power all the inside speakers - looking at JL Audio or Alpine. May need a 6 channel AMP.

So far thats it. Although I do have some other ideas to go along with that as well. But thats basically what I am looking at doing.

Talking

I just got the amp I'm going to use to power my KICKER SSMB8 MID BASS DRIVERS! It's an ALPINE MRD-M300 with built in bass engine tuning. It puts out 300watts RMS and matches my other 2 amps (looks). I will install them soon and post pictures of the process!

My 8" Mid bass install!

Here's some pics of my 8" KICKER MID BASS install in my door panels. I just have to let the silicone cure overnight and then I can put them in my car!

The Kicker SSMB8's are 2.25" deep. I had 2.75" between the steel and the panel. I should have enough room for a couple of layers of Dynamat behind them with room to spare! I'm at the shop right now. I just have to put another coat of paint on my amp rack and run some wires and I'll be ready to put the panels back in and see how it sounds!
