Speaker system

i wouldnt mind upgrading the sound in my car, but i want to keep the product in the pioneer, infinity line. Can anyone recommend a good place to start modding the sound system and what all will be involved if i get into it??

Why would you want to keep it Pioneer or Infinity? You can do better for the money.

I personally like Polk for highs and JL for lows

Actually, infinity is probably the best for the money (for component speakers). I don't know what your talking about. Next, not too far behind, would be the Rockford punches 6x9's, then Alpine Type R's!

Try these CDT's on for size. The CL61 is far better then anything you can get by infinity.
Also, visit www.caraudioforum.com if you want to learn more.

start up front,I dont think that you would like to ear all your sound coming from the back of the car and seriously there are a lot of good speakers instead of infinity and pionner

Thats what im asking... What sounds better to you ?
More clarity in the mids/highs ?
Louder Mids/Highs ?
More bass ?
A LOT MORE BASS ?

Anyone can jump on the thread and say "Buy JL speakers I love them" or "Alpines > All".... Which is all fine and good.... but to give you good advise on what to look at or buy you should tell us what you want or are looking to get out of what your buying

As far as the price thing... it pretty important too...
Let say you want better overall sound quality... Super clean sound from everything...
I rattle off a ton of McIntosh or Audison amps.... Some killer 3-way rainbow comps... and a bitchin Nakamichi headunit... Only problem is that stuff is gonna cost you 10k...

Now if you say... "Hey im looking to put something together and Ive got XXXX to spend" its a hell of a lot easier...
