Static to radio when my rear defrost button is on ! HELP

Ok so I have had my aftermarket radio in my car for a long time now, over a year close to 2 years. couple months ago after one of my ac lines got a hole in it, i noticed like a week later when I put my rear defrost on my fm radio went to static.

I put the stock headunit in and it does the same thing.

only for fm/am

my ipod or cds wont go to static.

now my ? is what the hell can cause this.

I have checked all fuses all connectors behind the radio and climate controls.

I think it has to do with the attena in the rear of the car but I am so puzzled.

any suggestions please chime in

I never heard of this before but it sounds like it may be submitting a frequency that is interferring with the radio. It just a guess but you might want to check this theory out.

sounds like theres a ground or short when you defrost to the antenna. Defrost wire and antenna wire may be in bed together.

that is what I am thinking but I have no idea where to even begin. I am thinking when i put the stock headunit in it went to static only with fm/am so it has to be intangled with the antenna. so i need to look into where the antenna and and rear defrost meet together somehow.

I took my antenna off like 2 yrs ago and put a cap on the screw but i still got radio single. so now i dont even listen to the radio bc something went haywire

antenna might be loose? try running a wire from the antenna mast to the battery ground. sort of ghetto but cant hurt

just to test it, get a length of wire, and loosen you antenna, then just get the bare wire touching the bare metal screw part and tighten that back down.. (painted might work but do it right just to be safe) then just put the other end to the batteyr ground... its in your trunk so just have the trunk open... obviously dont leave it there if it fixes it, but it will tell you if that is the problem...

you dont necessarily have to loosen the antenna. its mounted with a piece of bare metal so u can just touch it and see
