Stealership an there keyfobs

Alright so i took the Balt to the Stealership the other week because my key fob had been going in and out (not working) I've had my car since Jan. so i figured i would still have some warranty (i pay extra for it monthly), which is a electrical warranty but the lady tells me it will be $160 to replace it. So i was wondering if i could order the key fob off of ebay for around $10-$20 an then get it programmed by the stealership an maybe what price that would cost me if anyone would know.

Check with the used car dept. they might have one that will work for your car. Especially if you deal with one salesman all of the time he may just give you one.

Is it the just the buttons that don't work? Mine quit working about a year ago. I finally got around to looking at it a couple weeks ago. I resoldered the battery clip inside but it still didn't work. I figured out that the buttons on my key fob didn't work. I took my brother's key fob apart to try the button pad on my little pc board or whatever it's called and it worked.

A quick search on the internet and found this place, http://www.keylessfix.com/keylessfixcom/ I was kinda hesitant at first but I ordered one the other day so I'll see how that works. Anyone have experience or heard of this product? I guess I'll be a guinea pig, ha!

Sorry don't mean to thread jack but, I just got my keyless fix in the mail and finally my key fob is useful once more. Little product works great. Took all of two mins to put in, I recommend trying this out if your buttons don't work any more. Maybe you can save yourself $100+.

Just fixed both of my fobs. The metal piece that holds the battery broke off used super glue and it works fine.

bought my key and remote here> http://www.keylessride.com/
programme the remote for $23 at the dealership

programme the key-DO NOT OPEN DOORS WHILE PERFORMING.
1.insert key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. do not turn key to start position.
2.watch the SECURITY message on the instrument cluster; it should shut off in ten minutes
3.turn the ignition to the OFF position and wait five seconds.
4.repeat steps 1 through 3 two more times
5.start the engine to verify that the procedure was performed properly

i've soldered mine 2 times...it's not the solder. plus the trunk and panic button work perfectly everytime

it's the rubber wearing down over the board. take off the rubber and place a key on the gold strips. it'll unlock/lock everytime. i think you can just get one from ebay and change out the rubber part

Yea you can get the rubber pads for like 3bucks on ebay, the conductive part of the button wears away, makes em brand new again.
