Steering Wheel Controls

Trying to wire up this damn steering wheel control, the 10-volt reference is hooked in, but when I test the SWC blue wire from the harness with a multimeter, the ohm resistance jumps everywhere and I'm not able to program the resistances because they don't stay at a constant value for each button... Anyone have any idea?

Did you follow the instructions of the steering wheel control box. They are all a little different and you have to be diligent. I hated installing those damn things

That might be my problem, I'm trying to avoid spending $100 for a PAC-SWI but it sounds like I absolutely have to. Connecting the SWC blue wire to my KEY1 does nothing...

oh yeah without one your dead in the water. the units themselves are super touchy and ive had more than a few either not work or fail over a short period of time. mind you ive had plenty of user error too. but im sure HU makers have felt my pain. coming out with a universal steering wheel compatible unit would be quite the headline and marketing campaign for sure. i cant imagine that if HU makers were able to make it work without them they wouldn't have done it.
