So I went to best buy to buy a stereo deck and get it installed so I can have an aux port on my 2005 cobalt ss sc. But they said I need some special harness that's like $140 that they don't sell. Anybody have any ideas for the absolute cheapest way to play my ipod short of an FM transmitter? Thanks.

yea you can get a cheaper harness but you will lose door chimes and a steering wheel controls

 

not on an 05. they are retained regardless. all u need to do is run a acc

x2 on the 05. It doesnt lose door chimes if your replace the radio. Get the harness that emperor mentioned and youll be set!
