Stereo NOOB here...need help/info!

So i just bought the Pioneer Avic x910bt unit for the cobalt, and i'll be attempting the install myself here soon... I'm pretty good when it comes to electronics/wiring, and from what i can tell the majority of this install will be more or less plug and play (i'm hoping). what i'm looking for is answers from people who have similar units installed. I used Crutchfield to lookup which adapters / cables i'll need and this is what i've come up with:

-Pac Swi PS Sony / Pioneer steering wheel interface
-Absolute CDIU203V iPod usb direct connect cable
-Double Din dash trim/adapter plates

One of my friends raised the question as to if it will need an amp to run, so i'm posing the same question on you guys, since i have no idea. Also, per the list above, am I missing anything that I would need for the install?

Thanks for looking, and the any answers are very welcome. I appreciate the help!

bump.....i know there are some people on here who know alot about stereos/electronics...

For your car you are going to need to hook up your remote wire from your radio and hook it up to the pink wire on your stock harness to turn on your stock amp. Without hooking up that wire you will not have any sound. The SWI is straight forward to install, just fallow the directions, just to let you know my swi-ps works like crap. Works when it wants to.

I believe that is all your questions.

I would still put it in, I would say mine works 80% of the time, mine just stops working then starts again

^^^ lol same here... more like 97% thou on mine. with steering wheel interfaces you have to install them as best as possible for the best results and accept they wont be as good as factory.

you also need a wiring harness for the radio and amp isn't necessary but you can if u want
