I did a write up on how to do it a clean way...let me see if I can find it.
Found it..
If you want an inline aux while retaining your factory headunit; here are the steps:
Go to Circuit City and buy these two things:
1. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Harma...oductDetail.do
2. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra...oductDetail.do
Here is the post on how to remove the dash trim
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/disassemble-dashboard-radio-related-panels-7236/
From there, remove the four bolts that hold the head unit on.
Unplug the radio antenna plug and plug it into the HK Wired Adapter.
Run the input jack to a place where you would like it to be.
Take the GM adapter and plug it onto the male end of the HK Wired and then plug into your headunit.
You won't be able to control the MP3 player from the headunit, but its the cheapest way to get it to work.
