Question sub and amp questions??

i have a few questions about subs and amps. and i am almost positive these have that this has been posted before but what do i look at when it comes to matching an amp to subs?? the peak power or the rms because i have heard a million different things and how hard would it be to wire up a sub and amp yourself?? and is there like a walkthrough with pictures already been done?? if so could you help me out please??

wiring amps is good....the multi-channels cost more because its safer than going bridged but you can get more power going bridged out of a lesser cost amp

you live by me......

I have an alpine amp that is rms 450. It is a mono sub amp but im am not sure of the model number but i got it from best buy. I had an old subwoofer and box from high school. So, i used that box and picked up a Memphis sub that is a duel coil 500 watt rms. I matched the rms because i felt that i was not going to be operating at peak power. I no from the past that if your amp is too much for your speaker then it blows. I am not an expert but if you search audio stuff on hear you will find all you need to know. Do you plan on using your stock head unit?

I have installed a few systems in my day. How many subs are you looking to run and just how loud do you want to go? Single voice coil or dual?

Let me know what your plans are and I will stear you in the right direction.

Get yourself a 2 channel 600 watt amp (300 per channel) with a low pass filter and keep the gain control below 85% and you will be golden. You will not have the loudest system in the world, but someone will def. know it is you coming around the bend.

Looks good but you have no trunk anymore. I need to dig up pics of my old system from my 91 z24 Cavi. 3 12" JL W3's, 1800 watt pioneer amp, pioneer head unit with full component system for highs and mids. 164.7 decibles was the highest it ever hit.
