Sub box help

I just bought an 07 Cobalt LT Coupe, my brother in law has 2 kicker L7s in a ported box but the box will not fit through the trunk opening. Can I install them through the fold down seat opening? or does anyone know of a box that fits in the cobalt for 2 L7s?

i would most likely say different box. I mean if its hard to get in the opening in the back , when you fold down the seats, since you have a 2 door, it will be hard to get it in the rear of the vehicle w/ out even considering the opening.. might squeez in but i doubt it

i tried putting them in through there and half of the box fix and then it got stuck cuz of the seats it was like in a downward angle so i think if i remove the seats it might just fit and the trunk looks wide enough to turn the box once its inside

ya when i had my 15 i had to take out my rear seats to get it in, mmmm custom is so much better lol, but good luck with that. the ebay dealer zenclosures can make you a sick box for a decent price for whatever subs you want. all custom fit just for the cobalt.

ya the seats are pretty easy to take out once you figure out how, the hardest part is pulling them out after the bolts are off. they are wedged in some plastic like most things on our car.

here is a pic of when i had the 15 in, you can c what a tight squeez that was.

Hey thanks for all the help, i removed the spare and was able to slide the subs in without any hassle and i still have enough room for other stuff i want to install. Another question is about all this talk with aftermarket HU. Does it really mess up the security system of the car? i mean it doesnt really have a security system? I want to install an Alpine HU but i dont know if i can or will it really mess up my Cobalt? I ordered the deck bracket from Crutchfield and the antenna adapter is the same one i have from my Neon so i dont need one, but i couldnt find a wiring harness for the 07 Cobalt. Does anyone know where i can get one? Heres what my install is going to be when im done.

HU - Alpine CDA-9885
Front Speakers - Kicker KS65.2 (6 1/2) w/ 1" Tweeters
Rear Speakers - Kicker KS69 (6x9)
Subs - 2 Kicker L7
Amps - Kicker ZX1500.1(BC 1700W RMS) Kicker ZX350.4 (BC 390W RMS)

and i would get a optima yellow top and a H.O. Alt.

the wiring harness is the GM-LAN-03 i believe and it is about 150$. you need this harness for any trim 2007 cobalt. and when you take out your stock radio you keep the security sistem and the DIC but you loose your door chimes/ signal light clicker and other random warnign noises.
