Sub question

I have two 12 inch dual subs, they seem to beat great, but its broken sounding..if you know what I mean.

I have a 100 cds, and only about 3 or 4 sounds have perfect bass.

I know every song is different, but most songs sound horrible, like I said the bass is loud, just broken.

Is this the subs? Or do I need to put something in my trunk to take the vibes down?

If its as broken as I think you are saying it is then my money is on the sub(s). With the system off go and try pushing each sub in with both hands and try to keep it equal on both ends, if you can do this several times and the play in the sub seems fine without any "scratching" sound then the next step would be to remove the subs from the box and have a look at where the diaphram(spider) of the sub attaches to the cone and make sure there is no seperation. I bet it will either be a burnt voice coil or a partially seperated structure of some sort.

also, check that your Positive and Negative speaker wire terminals are both hooked up correctly ON the subs... if one of them is mismatched, the two speakers can phase cancel each other. Also, Try it with only one sub hooked up to check for a difference.

i have no idea what you mean by "broken bass" but someone said push in on the subs and if you hear a scratching noise your voice coil is done for..

but the fact that its perfect on 3-4 cd's makes me think you might have just downloaded some shitty music (limewire/youtube maybe) although ive gotten some songs off youtube, they didnt sound perfect but didnt sound how you describe them
