sub wireing?

Im rewiring my sub from serial to parreral and was wondering if 16 gauge wire is big enough to run from coil to coil or do i need to go with a bigger gauge say 12 or so? LMK

There kicker L& 10" 1200/600 i believe. The wire i took off the coils seems to be 12 gauge. Jsut woindering if 16 gauge would work jsut as well for wiring 2 coils together to make it 2ohms.

if it was my mine i would stay with the 12 but your not going to hurt or notice a difference using 16
