subs in cabin or trunk?

Definitely investing in 2 12" subs for my cobalt. Was wondering if I should put them in the trunk rear facing, or seat them in the trunk and have them face into the cabin(obviously id have to put the seats down, or get rid of them)?

how would it sound like **** anyways? its not like im bass boosting, im actually going to have the gain down quite a bit more than what it should be. I'm not looking to vibrate the house 2 blocks down, im looking for some proper deep lows.

I think one 12 might be enough. But I like to hear the music and not just bass. A clear sounding setup with even amount of bass and the rest is nice

Do you need trunk space firstly? Or a back seat? I also think 2 12 is overkill. As far as mounting subs, I like the way it sounds rear facing in the trunk. Keyword "like"

SKAR Audio VVX-8v3 D2 (vvx8v3d2) 8" Dual 2 ohm VVX Series Car

^^^ this little monster will make you forget about big subs. In the right box it'll rattle the crap out of everything. 1 is more than enough trust me

I'd prefer to keep the backseat, but i dont need the trunk space. So i suppose ill go with your facing the trunk idea. I was already leaning towards that way anyways.

yall need to chill out, he didn't ask your opinion on if he should get new equiptment. i had 2 15s and a **** ton of power so stop acting like 2 12s is too much.

face the subs towards the trunk. it will be louder due to acoustics

It will pretty much always be louder to have subs in the trunk pointing towards the back of the car.

Yeah it's all preference. If he wants loud bass for shows or something go big.

I have 2 12s myself. I currently have them facing the trunk, and been thinking about a rear seat delete and flipping them around to face me. I don't put the bass full blast either I have a remote and adjust it. Most the time its lowest setting, but when a couple songs I like that just have to have bass I turn it up a bit, but never passed half don't need it higher. I hate rattle.

To answer your question I would do facing the trunk if you want to keep the back seat. Better looking and sounding.

you can always sound deaden to get rid of rattle. Or seal off the trunk when facing them forward but its not easy. Both quarter panels leak pretty bad. so you need to seal those along with the rear deck and then the panel to seal the rear seat opening. Thats how my car was setup but it took alot of work to get it sealed properly

I had 1 12inch with a 500/1 running it and was pushing 136.8 db @ +4 db boost. I thought that was alright.

Well I am taking it to a car audio shop to get it setup. ill inquire about sealing up the rear deck and sound deadening to reduce rattle. I always hear people around my area with subs and their whole car rattles. I hate that sound.

Put them in the trunk and keep your rear seat for any passengers you might have
