Why not adjust the mirror while it's already in it's lowest position so that it can't drop down any further from the vibrations?

i always keep a bottle of superglue in my car, put a small drop, and if you have to move your mirror, just give it a good twist to break the glue.

in my state you don't need the inside rear view mirror, look at all the semis that can't see out the back? You can even paint your back window with black paint and be fine...

That's one of the reasons my car is The Blur. You just can't see straight when I'm thumping.

I haven't tried it in my Cobalt yet, but I put a piece of Dynamat Xtreme on the back of the mirror body and painted it black in my last car. It helped quite a bit and you had to look really hard from outside the car to notice the mirror was modified! I also had 6 sq. ft. of Dynamat in the ceiling of that car. The sunroof makes it a bit difficult to add much to our Cobalt's ceiling.

I would expect Florida to be the same, since most of you guys are retired Illinoisians anyway.

I can deal with the mirror most of the time, but Dynamat Xtreme in your trunk will fix that. I am cranking out 140+ db's out of one 12" and that stuff works. My wing gets a slight rattle every once in awhile when the bass really hits. That Dynamat works wonders, just sucks because is is kida heavy. I just took out my spare tire to compinsate and hope I dont have a flat.

The trunk lid is probably the most important place to put Dynamat. It prevents the lid from "hopping" and flexing (higher SPL), and eliminates most of the rear end rattles. I have 4 layers of Xtreme under the factory lid liner, so it is not visible. I did the trunk floor with Fatmat, which is actually not very "fat"! I think it's about half the thickness and weight of Dynamat Xtreme. I need to do my quarter panels eventually. I have 2 layers of Fatmat on the rear deck to help prevent vibrations from traveling forward, but I wish I had used some Xtreme instead, because I think it would have done a better job.

ya i know but my goal is going to be to seal off the sub box from the trunk air tight so all the sound is forced in the cabin. If that works then the trunk shouldnt flex.

oh and when i said i was having flexing problems its not just the trunk... pretty much everything in the car moves crazy insane
