subs with stock headunit?
I did mine without a line output converter, reason was because the one i bought simple didn't work, so i basically tapped into the rear speakers and ran the lines into my amp out into the sub, it works great. I do recommend however if you do have a working line output converter (about $20 at Best Buy), then use it, its suppose to make the sound crisper.

if your amp has high level inputs you can splice those directly into your speakers and do not need the line output converter.
hmm i had a line out converter hooked up for like 2 hours till realized my amp had the high level inputs; imo it sounds better with the high levels than it did with the line out converter.

Got a question for ya Corp17. I did the same thing as you except I get a popping sound from my subs anytime I open the door unlock doors turn on key and anything like that. Any idea what the problem is here? My amp doesn't have a remote turn but high level sensing I think its called.
