I did mine without a line output converter, reason was because the one i bought simple didn't work, so i basically tapped into the rear speakers and ran the lines into my amp out into the sub, it works great. I do recommend however if you do have a working line output converter (about $20 at Best Buy), then use it, its suppose to make the sound crisper.

Got a question for ya Corp17. I did the same thing as you except I get a popping sound from my subs anytime I open the door unlock doors turn on key and anything like that. Any idea what the problem is here? My amp doesn't have a remote turn but high level sensing I think its called.

if your amp has high level inputs you can splice those directly into your speakers and do not need the line output converter.

hmm i had a line out converter hooked up for like 2 hours till realized my amp had the high level inputs; imo it sounds better with the high levels than it did with the line out converter.

buy a LOC and wire it up and run your amp and sub. its easy and self explanatory if you read the instructions.
