subwoofer issues
so a while back I bought a set up my buddy had in his caliber srt as my old subs wouldnt fit in the trunk. Its a 10 inch MCD sub, DVC 2 ohms, at 5000 watts max. Its in a ported box specially made for it with a 2000 watt crunch amp for power. had some issued hooking it up but finally got a tiny bit of bump out of it. I had spent 2 days on it and kinda just settled. When it was connected in his srt it was obnoxiously loud and that was with the the amp mostly turned down as well as the settings on the H/U. I currently have everything on the amp turned to the max and like I said its just a tiny bit of bump. The subwoofer bass on the H/U is maxed but when I turn up the separate bass setting on the H/U the sub gets louder but so do the speakers bass and it starts to sound like garbage. bass boost is also on as well.
I tried researching about the issues and it seems to have something to do with the factory amp im assuming? Also saw a few people mention the line/out converter but that seemed to be used for people running into the stock subwoofer wiring.
RCAs run from sub amp to H/U, same with the remote. power and ground normal as well.
let me know what you think the issue is, any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Kinda ready to give up all together and sell the system.
