Subwoofer Review

Amp: Rockford Fosgate P1000-1bd

Sub1: Two 12" Dub200
Cost: $50 for the pair
Wired: 4 Ohms
Audiobahn DUB200 12" DUB Series Dual 4 ohms Subwoofer w/ Grill

Sub1: One Alpine Type-R 10"
Cost: $100
Wired: 2 Ohms
ALPINE SWR-10D4 10-INCH TYPE-R CAR AUDIO SUBWOOFER 1000W RMS | eBay

Between the two setups, I really prefer the lower quality Dub subwoofers. They literally feel louder. I am slightly disappointed with the Alpine Type-R. I am going to hit up the local car audio shop and see if I can get another box for the type R. The best thing about the type r is that i have more trunk space now.

Sorry for the boring post, i just wanted to vent about the sub I bought tonight.

what boxes do u have them in? and how are u disappointed? your comparing 2 speakers to one and from what it sounds like the one is in a **** box. so the fact that it even comes close shows u how shitty those dub speakers are

Yea dude I dont know. I am thinking about having a custom box built for the type r.

I explicitly specified the details because I was just interested in the SPL. The Dub makes my nose

tickle while the alpine doesnt. Thats really all.

I've had type-r 12s in the past that I got rid of because they were too loud. At any rate, I just wasnt happy with the level from it so I switched back. I feel I get better sound out of the two subs than I did the single type r
