subwoofer wiring help
i have a dual voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer. I'm wiring it up so it gets a 2 ohm load. How do I go about wiring it up to a 2 ohm load?

at this site it shows that in a dual voice coil sub run in parrell must take a postive off one side of the sub and a negative off of the other side of the sub.

When I wired mine up i just took the postive and negative off of the one side of the sub. DOes it really matter?

i actually hooked one positive off of the sub to other positive on the otherside of the sub. Then I did the same for the negatives. Then I just ran a positive and negative off of one side of the sub to the amp.. This is the proper way to obtain a 2 ohm load correct?

that is correct. you need all + one one line and all - on the other if you doe +-+- you will get a 8ohm load, ++, -- will give you a 2ohm load.
As far as not running both coils at once it is safest to run both at once.
