I have the V3 and I love them. The kit from HID works, you'll have to splice your wires, the bathe V3, you won't have to. I was one of the first few people to get the V3's.
I'd wait till the end of the month on the V3's though cuz they're doing some updates to fix some issues. Also, check the V3 site cuz I think you can get a life time warranty with them over the others.

I've had pretty much almost every switchback there is, and right now I have Triton v3 switchbacks. I LOVE the light output. They do come with lifetime warranty. If they come out with a new set and yours fails - they'll send you a new kit. On other kits - if something goes wrong after the initial 3 months - you're buying a whole new set.
all switchbacks (or LEDs in general) suffer greatly when it comes to amber output. They're usually fine at night, but when it comes to sunny days it's a matter of safety to me how hard they're to see. V-LEDs have fixed this problem with their V3 Tritons.
It all comes down to the good 'ole saying: You get what you pay for.

^this
given the trouble the V3's have given many of the members on HIDplanet already, I would utterly refuse to pay that sort of money for a bulb given the extra mess of wiring needed as well.. if you can afford to spend that kind of money on turn signal bulbs you need to send me some of your money
