system help

well im pretty mucha a rookie in the system area but ive had a 15 for a good year.. and everythings been good.. but the other day i barely had the system up and my base jus died... i checked all the wires there good... the sub still gets a little bit of power but not enough for me.. lets jus say i got no rattles now... im thinkn its the amp... the other day i was on my way to work and i smelt smoke in the back.. so is my amp fried? help is greatly appreciated

i say amp, or sub. If the sub does not get enough power it can fry the voice coils just like if it gets to much power

yeah, find a sub and hook it to the amp and see what it does, troubleshoot.
